ANNEX 2 - CONDITIONS CONSISTENT WITH THE OPERATING SCHEDULE
- A high-quality CCTV system will cover all entry and exit points, till areas, and the shop floor. Recordings will be retained for a minimum of 28 days and made available to the police or licensing officers upon request.
- The system will be checked regularly to ensure it is fully operational, with a member of staff trained to operate it at all times.
- All staff involved in the sale of alcohol will receive training on age-restricted sales, recognising signs of intoxication, and how to deal with potentially aggressive behaviour.
- An incident and refusals log will be maintained and available for inspection by responsible authorities.
- The store will have adequate lighting, both internally and externally, to deter criminal activity.
- The premises management will maintain close liaison with the local police, trading standards, and any relevant local community safety partnerships.
- Regular health and safety risk assessments will be carried out and documented.
- All aisles and exits will be kept clear to ensure safe movement and emergency evacuation.
- Fire safety equipment, including extinguishers, alarms, and emergency lighting, will be installed, regularly checked, and maintained in working order.
- A first aid kit will be kept on site, and staff will be trained in basic first aid and emergency procedures.
- Electrical installations and equipment will be regularly tested and maintained to prevent hazards.
- The premises will be kept clean, well-lit, and in good repair to ensure the safety of all visitors.
- Deliveries will be scheduled at appropriate times to avoid disruption and noise, especially during early mornings or late evenings.
- Signage will be displayed requesting customers to leave the area quietly and to respect neighbours.
- Any waste disposal or bottle recycling will be carried out at reasonable hours.
- The external areas around the shop will be kept clean and free from litter, with regular inspections and tidy-ups.
- No alcohol will be consumed on the premises or immediately outside.
- The store will monitor and control any groups loitering outside and will contact the police if necessary.
- A Challenge 25 policy will be in force, requiring approved ID (passport, driving licence, or PASS card) for anyone appearing under 25.
- Staff will receive comprehensive training on preventing underage sales, with refresher training at regular intervals.
- A refusals log will record all attempted underage or proxy sales.
- No products likely to appeal excessively to children (such as novelty alcoholic - drinks or high-strength ciders) will be prominently displayed near the counter.
- Any advertising or promotional material for alcohol will be displayed responsibly and away from child-oriented areas (e.g., near sweets or soft drinks).
- Children will only be permitted on the premises if accompanied by a responsible adult.
- Close cooperation with local enforcement authorities.
- CCTV images shall be retained in an unedited format for a period of 31 consecutive days.
- Any person left in charge of the premises shall be trained in the use of the CCTV equipment and shall be able to produce, download, or burn CCTV images upon request.
- The CCTV system shall be maintained on a regular basis and always kept in good working order.
- Images shall be produced to the Police or Authorised Licensing Officers immediately upon request.
